  : Our mother pass away in Seattle December 2020 and we decided to intern her August 2021 in our home town area of Coos Bay. In February 21 we booked the Sea Spray Hideaway for 10 days for our final goodbye process. The “Hideway” is on Joe Neigh Slough (Charleston-Barview area) a half mile away from where we grew up and just down the street from a previous Booking.com, Vacasa house rental (Osprey Cove) 3 years before. Our stay was less than stellar as being there in person was extremely different than the pictures and the good reviews. Overflowing garbage can, massive spider webs inside and out, black mold, missing curtains, filthy and stained carpet throughout, lighting not working, brown lawn, unfinished remodel of house and several safety issues. How could it really be this bad?It comes down to expectations. If you want a 4-bedroom cabin in the western wooded area of Oregon then you will like this property. If you expect a 4-bedroom house near the beaches you will be sadly disappointed as this makes all of the various reviews to be correct. Couple this with absentee owners answerable with Vacasa managing the cleanliness and upkeep with a minimum performance attitude. To put this simply, a 4-Bedroom, 2 bath, house (not a cabin) should be stocked with more than 2½ rolls of toilet paper for a 10 day guest usage when a previous guest review complained about not having any coffee filters. Vacasa properties seem to focus on making money for property owners not rental customer satisfaction. We paid Booking.Com whom paid Vacasa an 18% management fee, a cleaning fee of $300 and the owners the balance. Although some Vacasa listings can be fantastic, others can also be a nightmare to which the best you get for your money is a tainted property and lame all-around excuses. I would not recommend this house property and question whether I rent from Vacasa again either.

  : This place was nice. We had plenty of room and the household items that we needed were there, mostly. The view is fantastic and we were close to the beach so that was great. Overall, it was a good set up and we enjoyed our stay there.
  : First, our fault, we didn't read the note below the Lock Box number that said enter the code on the door, not the lock box. It would have been nice if that light above the door was either on or motion sensitive. The place needs to be updated....toilets are old and need to be replaced with chair height toilets and better flushing. The bathtub does have a stopper. Some type of grab bars in the shower/tub would be useful. Fill in those holes behind the refrigerator. Also, the carpet is dated. It would be better to have the twin beds downstairs instead up on the first level. Twin beds are great when you must have them but not ideal....not ideal to have to use stairs. There needs to be a better cutting knife set in the kitchen, salt and pepper shakers or even just some packets, and a pair of scissors, and a hair dryer.Finally, the inside was spotless which was awesome but the porch/patio/balcony needs to be cleaned up every few weeks. Just sweeping the leaves and pine needles and spider webs is all that is needed. And for heaven sakes, get better chairs for the balcony. Those nasty, used-to-be-white plastic chairs were unusable.

  : It was beautiful and comfortable. The view was gorgeous. Loved seeing the wildlife
  : The stairs were not safe as one of us fell down the stairs to the bottom. The silverware drawer the facing was peeling off.

  : The location was just beautiful. It felt isolated enough, but still had easy access to everything we wanted to visit.
  : The house was great, and a perfect size. There were just a few maintenance type things. Like, the upstairs toilet was leaking., And the place needed a bit of an airing out. But honestly, it was so beautiful and comfy and homey that it didn't feel like a huge problem.
