  : The bed was comfy.
  : There was no reception in the hotel, meaning that with any problem we would have to go to another one to ask for help.The light of my bedroom stopped working from the second day.I could not open my windows because I was on the second floor and all the garbage would enter the room (see picture)

  : loved staying here - super chill vibe if you're traveling alone and want something cheap.
  : the bathrooms are next to the other guest's rooms so they can hear you shower and use the facilities :(

  : Historic hotel, well located in Powell St. Excellent value for money. Clean room and friendly staff. Close to the Cable Car turnaround. Many restaurants in the area. We returned after 15 years and it was still a great choice.

  : No services. No mini fridge. No face cloths. Brathroom floor was disgusting. Flat sheet instead of fitted sheet, so when you rolled you were lying on the mattress. Eww. Family complaints about common areas smell (pee).

  : Herbert hotel and Booking.com created a very unpleasant situation for me. Per San Francisco tenant right regulations, stays over 21 days are not accepted by Herbert Hotel but Booking.com allowed me to make a reservation for 26 days. Only a few hours prior to check-in, Herbert Hotel contacted me and informed me about my overlong stay. No-one took any action to inform me earlier about this, although I had made the booking a month in advance.Upon check-in, I was told that they have to subtract five days from my stay and that I am supposed to contact Booking.com's customer service on my check-out day to receive the refund. I asked Herbert Hotel's staff whether they have informed Booking.com about the date change and they told me that they have done so. All I have to do is to call them. I contacted the Booking.com support, but according to them, Herbert Hotel had not informed them about the date change and they could not reach out to Herbert Hotel.Now I am in a situation where Booking.com OR Herbert Hotel owes me hundreds of dollars and neither of them are taking responsibility to solve this issue. Booking.com says it Herbert Hotel's issue and Herbert Hotel says that it's Booking.com's issue. I had to book an AirBnB for my last five days, and with the unpaid refund my trip ended up costing me over 900 dollars more than intended.

  : Nice location in walking distance to what ever we wanted to see.
  : We did expect a hotel with a reception and living people but found a gost hotel, nobody's there. No-one to talk to or to ask questions. No tourist information at all. No bar, no food, nothing.We didn't know about the Tenderloin area and was shocked to see the poor people, homeless and the drugs in the streets.We didn't find a nice cafe, only expensive restaurants
