  : Nice location, extensive gardens, and easy walking distance to Coniston. Food was good.
  : The service model is awful and certainly bewildering to the many foreign customers. Disliked having to order everything at the bar, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You even have to get your own cups and saucers at breakfast along with your tea or coffee. There is no table service at all, except for the delivery of food. There's an annoying doorbell ring that goes off every time a dish is ready. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The Scottish lady is like a ray of sunshine. What this place desperately needs is a dynamic and talented manager who has the vision to change things for the better and fewer paper driven processes. It would appear that the present incumbent has been there for a long time. The room was functional, lighting poor, and the bed was uncomfortable. We were also chased repeatedly after checking out for an outstanding balance that had been paid three hours previously.

  : Food is fantastic, location is amazing and the building it self looks too class. Dogs can go everywhere
  : Weve stayed before and had a great time and had a great room. This year was a bit of a disaster as due to Illness 3 nights became 1, on our way up to Scotland. This year the beds were too soft causing back ache, breakfast between 7.30-9.30 for residence is a joke. I dont want to be getting up early on my holiday especially when Ive driven 7hrs from south west the day before.

  : We really liked the location of the hotel, theres access to Coniston water and lots of little huts to relax and take in the view.Its a really picturesque village, however where our room was situated wasnt fantastic. But other than that it was a pleasant stay.
  : As I mentioned our room was in what used to be the staff quarters, we were in the room above the dirty linen, bins, and kitchen. Which I think a fair few guests ordered fish if you catch my drift.May I also add the lady checking us in seemed a little grumpy but I think it was evened out by the manager who checked us out being lovely.

  : Internet access when you can connect ed was good but this wasnt very often, seemed to be okay ish for one tablet but for two or another phone it would cut off.Menus could be tailored to be gluten free, but could be improved greatly, annotations such as GFO on the menu could indicate what could be adapted and maybe include more options.We were disappointed with breakfast, staff ran the breakfast sessions very efficiently the actual food was a let down and did not seem like value for money. Our 1st morning was met with no hot water, we understand these things happen.
