  : Room was fine; there was no breakfast; location was perfect (morning walks on the beach). Couldn't get the shower to work, no hot water in the sink, no coffee set-up, good responses from staff ... you get what you pay for. I was not disappointed.

  : The location was great however check in was at 3 was about 15 min late and had to wait for room. The bed was like sleeping on a board woke up with back pain. Every time neighbors would flush toilet or use sink sounded like pipes were going to break. Room could use fresh paint and new beds. For the price it was not worth it. Disappointed

  : The location is amazing, rooms are simple and just what you need for a chill and quick stay. Hot water took a while to warm up however it was able to get really hot! Easy browsing cable channels on TV, aircon for hot and humid days.
  : The toilet seat was cracked and it did pinch skin when sat on. Bed frame hollow metal made loud sounds when we bumped it with our feet on accident; also makes obvious deep sounds when rolling over on bed.

  : The location was great. The office manager was very aware of the surroundings, which made me feel safe. He came out to the parking lot the second we parked to make sure we were supposed to be there. The bathroom has been recently remodeled.
  : The cleaning staff used Fabuloso to clean the room, and it left a very strong fragrance. I have asthma, and it made it very difficult to want to stay in the room. I could not open the window because there was no screen.

  : Prime location, and the hotel manager was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay, and we will continue to stay at the Fireside Inn whenever we visit Santa Cruz.

  : The room had a nauseating smell of chemicals and soap, it was honestly really strong. When asked to change rooms, the manager refused and said that it would go away soon. The next morning the smell was still there and our throats hurt.

  : Right next to the Boardwalk. Walking distance from Pier and Boardwalk.
  : The smell of the cleaner used. Also a very dated hotel, but clean and comfortable and convenient location.

  : Convenient location if you want to be in walking distance to the Boardwalk and wharf area.
  : It is weathered and filthy, no elevator,had to lug up my luggage up several rickety staircases. The front door on the inside of the room had profanity and graffiti on it. The furniture was peeling off, walls and doors dirty, the tub was completely deglazed, mold everywhere in he bathroom, the toilet was stained. The iron was missing over the board hanging on the grimy wall. The smell of some cleaning chemical they were using to cover over god knows what was so overwhelming I was coughing and sneezing all night and had to go to urgent care the next morning for a nebulizer treatment for my asthma. The manager was no where to be found the next morning upon checkout so I had to drop the key in the door drop. This place is such a dump that I had to call Booking.com about it to request a refund which I have not received. I paid 200 dollars to stay in this disgusting dump of a place. Do yourself a favor and stay clear, take a Uber from a cleaner and safer hotel that is further away. The Bates motel would be better.
