North Fort Myers House on Canal - Pool and Dock!

  : The house was very private and peacful. It was large enough for our family of 10 to have plenty of room. They allow pets with a fee, not outrageous, bringing our dog was very important to us. The pool was good size, the paint in the pool is worn and at first look it looks like it may be dirty, but it is not, it just needs to be repainted. They had a few pool toys for the kids there. The dock was nice, you can fish from it (catch and release) unless your licensed in the state. We seen some manatees, that was great! We brought a couple of kayaks and was able to see alot more. There are bikes you can utilize, there really isn't much close enough to ride a bike to, but if you want to just ride around the neighborhood they are perfect. With that said, the house is a short car ride to good restaurants and shopping. There were plenty of towels, dishes, glasses, etc... bring paper towels, sponges, toilet paper, grill tank and cleaning wipes. The laundry room is large, they had a few pods and a box of dryer sheets to use, of course bring your own if you have particular needs or brands you prefer. There is a little jar of dishwasher tabs for your use as well as dishsoap. There are plenty of TV's in the home, I recommend bringing your own Roku, Amazon or whatever you use, especially for the main living room TV ( there is not a TV in the childrens bunkroom ) I used my tablet for them, so they had the best TV set up in the house as far as selection. We only used the TV's in the morning and before bed so it really wasn't a big deal. The lanai is very nice and screened, we used that room the most and it opens to the main house. They have an electric grill out there, we did not use it, but I thought it was a nice feature. The landscaping seems overgrown but it provides even more privacy and there are so many pretty tropical plants, trees and flowers I really enjoyed it.
  : The house wasn't very clean. the table in the kitchen, the kitchen counters and stove top were dirty. The table was especially dirty with alot of very dried food stuck to it. I had to use the scrub side of a spong to get it off. There wasn't general purpose cleaners to use in the home for daily light cleaning and disinfecting. The pool cleaner came the day before check out and added chemicals to the pool, we waited over an hour before letting anyone use the pool, but the chemicals were so strong that it was too irritating to use. It would have been nice if the they had waited until our check out day to come. I also requested several times before check in to extend our check out time by 1 hour (11am) due to our large family and it being helpful for us to not have to hurry and get all the children fed and together and make sure everything was in order (as this house has alot of "must dos" at check out) and that we hadn't forgot anything, and I didnt think it would be an issue for just one hour especially since 11am is standard with pretty much everywhere, We would have even paid an extra fee to extend, but was denied every time. They do not ensure gas for the outdoor grill so that was disappointing... I don't understand why it is the guests responsibility to make sure that the next guest has gas, due to there is no way you will use the entire tank during a week long stay, as well as the ignition switch is broken and you have to brave getting burnt to get it to light. We only used it once, it just wasn't worth the headache on vacation. There was another grill, but it was in the middle of a bunch of trees and bushes and quite a ways from the patio. The second Queen master bathroom shower was impossible to use without flooding the bathroom so we were not able to use the shower in there which limited us to only 2 showers for all of us.
