  : Not a great deal. It has the potential to be a nice hotel but it has a cold atmosphere and is uninviting. It was also very chilli in the bar and dining area.
  : When arriving at a hotel good first impressions depend solely on the reception team. We arrived on Thursday 4th July at around 7pm after a four and a half hour journey, to be told, ungraciously, that we didn’t have a room booked. I showed the rather rude young lady our booking details to which she replied that booking.com hadn’t sent the details through. She said she would have to do it all manually. She was dismissive, did not apologise once for the inconvenience or the delay, we were waiting for approx; 25mins! When I asked how much longer it would take she told us to go and sit down!! She was rude, condescending and very unprofessional.We eventually got to our room, tired and fed up. We decided to go to the restaurant and have a drink and a meal. It took ages to get served as there was only one lady behind the bar. The food was cold when it arrived and the whole experience was pretty dismal. We asked for a bucket of ice to take to our room and we were told that they only had a couple of ice buckets but on this occasion because the hotel wasn’t busy she would let us have one?The following day we went to a funeral which was why we had travelled up to Leigh. Before leaving we asked the bar maid for three glasses of Prosecco. It took 15 mins to arrive and when it did two people came over carrying the glasses, where on earth was a tray!!! After the funeral we decided that rather than go out again we would give the restaurant another go. I have to say the fish and chips were very good but when we made the mistake of asking for some ketchup we were told by the waitress ‘it’s over there on the bar!!!’ Once again rude and so lacking in professionalism. Also, the sink in room 141 needs unblocking. The cleaners must have known about this but they allowed guests to stay in ghat room without reporting it.You cannot blame any of these delays in service on the hotel being busy. There was hardly anyone in the bar and restaurant at any time during our stay.

  : Avoid this hotel. Arrived and spent about 30 mins at reception waiting for the computer to find out booking. Booked a double bed and they gave me a two singles when I went and complained they said this is all they had. In that case they shouldn’t have sold me two singles, they then said they could reimburse or anything. The bedroom was then placed next to another room with a door between the two rooms, where a bunch of kids on a trip were banging doors and laughing all night. Got absolutely zero sleep due to the door joining two rooms together had no noise cancellation. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you would like sleep.

  : Probably the loudest banging room doors ever made. Eveytime a guest went in or out there rooms like a firework going off . Apart from that lovely hotel
