City2Beach Hotel

Wonderful
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: I like everything, very friendly and easy reception

Very Poor
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: The room was clean. Location is central.
: It was overall a very bad experience. We received a room under the roof with no heating at all. We tried to call the hotel (as they have an emergency number with a Dutch-speaking robot), but as we did not understand the automatic message we didnt go through. After 2 nights of sleeping in the cold, with clothes on, we reached someone over the phone and someone came to check the pipes and the radiator. The lady was really nice and helpful, but she came with the key to another room, which cleearly suggests that they knew about the issue and just hoped for the best when selling the room. Basically, we slept in the cold 2 out of 3 nights. It was a bad decision to book this one.

Good

: The pancakes from the bar
  : Very small bedroom

Very Good
Traveller Type: Solo Traveler
: Nice and clean place to stay. Excellent location, everything is in a walking distance. Good value for money.
  : Nothing to mention.

Wonderful
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: Location, clean, friendly staff, free automatic coffee/tea
: All was okay, pleasant and well organized

Poor
Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
  : Nice houskeeperpersonal.
: The carpet was so dirty, the room constantly smelled of sweaty feet. no matter how often you ventilated. It was like that from the moment we arrived until we left. My ring slipped behind a broken wooden bar next to the bed. There was no way for me to take it out again. I told this to the lady I gave the key to on the day of departure. She just said she would look but couldn't promise anything, even though I had offered to cover the cost of sending the ring. All you had to do was unscrew the bar.

Very Good

: The hotel in general is nice value for the price. It's quite cheap and central in the city so it's great for a quick stay. The staff is also very nice and understanding.
: Sadly, we did not have any hot water in the shower and the walls were quite thin so you could hear when other people were entering the place and/or leaving. But overall the people were very respectful so once they entered their rooms it was very quiet.

Disappointing
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: to be really honest there was not much we "liked" about this hotel.
: First problem we encounter was the parking. Parking machines don't accept credit card, so how on earth can you buy a ticket to park your car. When we mentioned it to the staff she just said that she didn't know, Why didn't she offer to buy a day ticket for us, and we could pay her back later. That is called service, Second problem is the tiny little stairs to go to your room with your suitcases, Third problem was the very small bathroom, with no fan, and a sign that the fire alarm will go off if you leave the door open from the bathroom after you had your shower, and you are responsible for a 150 euro fine. Shower was ridiculously small and damp.
