  : A large room with en suite bathroom in a fine old mansion. A quiet location in a very affluent suburb of the city with good public transport links into town. Alternatively a very pleasant lakeside stroll will take you to the centre. Plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast.
  : The public areas were a bit over heated for my liking but might suite those from warmer climes.

  : The hotel is in a sensational location, not far from the centre, with which it is very well connected, yet in a quite secluded setting opposite a lake surrounded by greenery. An ideal place to relax, but also as a base for exploring Hamburg. Very helpful and communicative staff. Rooms with stylish interiors. Tasty breakfasts with options for everyone.

  : The room was spacious and the balcony was nice
  : This is a very mediocre hotel that has bad service and is wildly overpriced. The staff were an unfortunate mix of disinterested, unfriendly and incompetent, both before and during our stay. Breakfast was mediocre at best (e.g. small jugs of milk are and served in the cellar (!).Room service is… strange: Entered without knocking early in the morning, entered the room again later to refill the minibar but didn’t bother to clear cups.

  : This hotel was everything you don't want from a hotel in a big city. I don't call it a hotel, because in a hotel you can expect some hospitality. What went well regarding the staff or management, nothing.It is a nice well located building. The neighborhood is lively and the city of Hamburg is easily accessible by bicycle.
  : No management, poor staff who barely speak English. The hotel is located on a busy road, there was no place to park in front of the hotel to check in. There was apparently no room to park in their underground parking lot. Traveling with a car full of luggage is very annoying, and no solution is offered. Ultimately the nearest parking building is 3km from the hotel, not guarded and open 24/24. During our stay it turned out that about 6 places were not taken in their parking lot. see photo taken after midnight. We could have parked there, the sliding system worked flawlessly!Breakfast is also a disaster, we had our dog with us (it is said to be a dog-friendly hotel), the breakfast room is much too small even in low season, so there is no place in the room where dogs are allowed. Again, staff who don't know what to do with the situation.The breakfast was also very basic, no coffee or tea service, no option for a fresh egg, everything was finished very quickly.

  : The property itself is gorgeous with a very homely feel to it rather than a hotel. The views from the property are very scenic with lots of trees and Lake Alster. The room and the bathroom are very well decorated and relaxing after a long day sight-seeing.
  : The location is not ideal for sightseeing as most of the tourist attractions are near Elbe river and not near Lake Alster. The breakfast buffet room is quite cramped and hence difficult to serve if there are more than 2 persons in that area.

  : Beautiful historic building beautifully renovated with modern comforts. Great bed and water pressure in the shower. Balcony on the street facing the Alster is a dream for morning coffee. Lovely complimentary breakfast and friendly staff. Truly my favorite location in Hamburg; you can walk to Jungfernstieg in 30 minutes, but you’re away from the tourist core and 10 minutes walk to trendy restaurants and cafes in charming Uhlenhorst and Winterhude.
  : Would love a bathtub in addition to the small shower

  : Tiny towels and cheap quality. Water is expensive and it is noisy at night too. The floorboards creak and people seem to be walking around 24/7
