Disappointing

  : The location was excellent and the building itself is quite beautiful from the exterior and grounds. However....
  : This place is indeed of a serious makeover and interior redesign. The furniture is old, so much of the Inn is not being used or is blocked off. It's really sad to see this once magnificent place, start to fall into the " This is probably haunted" vibe. With a interior make over-all this could be an amazing place to stay and the owners "who just seem to be floating by" with the place would see a considerable increase in bookings and revenue.

  : The inn was very run down, needed repairs and painting… the pool was dirty and caving in… we were very disappointed, stayed 1 night and left next morning…. Owners were not very welcoming, never offered their name… Welcoming flag out front was tattered and torn, dangling by threads….

  : The inn is looking very tired with a great deal of deferred maintenance. Looks like owners can’t, or choose not to, invest in the property so only make-up work is done. Similarly, breakfast is on the cheap with boxed cereals and supermarket items to choose from. After that critical introduction, I must say that the inn was clean, there were no major problems, the owners are friendly and the location is very good for a week end in the Berkshires or for Tanglewood which was our reason for staying. The bedding and linen was very comfortable, the room had air-conditioning and fresh baked cookies were set out in the afternoon. So if you are not demanding, this is a pleasant, low-cost stay (our prices were expensive for what was offered, but it was a last-minute reservation during the peak season of the Tanglewood festival.)

  : We love the Berkshires and Thornewood is perfectly located as a starting point for everything we wanted to do. The lobby and breakfast room is clean, cozy and inviting. The self serve breakfast was varied and well thought out. Our room was clean.
  : Bigger waste basket since there was no housekeeping during our stay due to Covid.
