  : Fantastic location, the staff were really helpful and we had a beautiful view from our room. Literally minutes walk from the old town and all the main sights.

  : Clean and comfortable room except for a damp problem in bathroom where the floor was always damp and cold. Helpful and friendly staff (family owned and managed). Exceptionally good breakfast. On the very edge of the old bazaar. Walk to all other attractions.

  : I really enjoyed my stay at Kotoni. It's located in the historic centre and a very short walk from all the main sights in Gjirokaster. The castle is a short walk away and also the bazaar where there are lots of bars and restaurants. I stayed in a single room and it was very cosy and comfortable. The breakfast included was exceptional; it was the best breakfast I've had while staying in a hotel in Europe. The food was so plentiful and varied. The hosts are also really lovely and very welcoming. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
  : The bathroom in the single room was very very small. Probably the smallest wet room I have used. It was fine for two days but showering very close to the toilet wasn't comfortable. Also, I took the bus to Gjirokaster from Tirana and to let anyone who is taking the bus know, it drops you at the bottom of the historic centre and it is a steep walk up to get to the accommodation. It takes about 10/15 mins but it is a tiring walk up so you may want to consider getting a taxi if you have heave luggage. You do also have to walk back down if you are taking a bus to your next destination or book a taxi to go back down.

  : It's an attractive building, traditional and outwardly unspoilt, in a great location near the centre of Gjirokaster. The host and her son are friendly, helpful and welcoming. My room was very clean and everything I need was provided. There was a good view from my window. Breakfast was truly spectacular! Fresh, good quality, tasty, abundant, lots of choice, beautifully presented in the traditional-style breakfast room.
  : Both bedroom and bathroom were tiny. Not a problem for me, but larger people might struggle, especially with the bathroom. The hotel is rather expensive by Albanian standards, but I think that's partly due to the prime location. Most cheaper places in Gjirokaster are downhill in the new town, which is not the best place to be. Also, Hotel Kononi is not at all expensive by international standards and, unless you are on a really tight budget, it is worth treating yourself to a stay here.
