Hotel Ideale

  : This review is really for the location where we stayed, probably Appartamento Anfiteatro Romano, rather than the elusive Hotel Ideale. See the part that I didn't like for details. Nonetheless, the building WHERE WE STAYED is not a true "hotel" but rather apartments.The location is literally in the Assisi downtown and the parking is inside the yard of the apartment complex, free, and very safe. The entrance to the yard is through one of those beautiful "Roman" gates which is pretty narrow, so I am not sure all the cars would go through (I folded the mirrors to be sure I don't scratch them). The location was perfect to walk to the restaurants, to the touristic areas, including Rocca Maggiore.The apartment itself was clean, spacious, well heated.
  : The Hotel Ideale doesn't have a good sign outside, and because we arrived at night, we passed it twice without seeing the entrance. We contacted Hotel Ideale and a lady directed us to another location, on the same street, but a bit more inside downtown (we used WhatsApp to communicate). On the maps and GPS, the actual location where we stayed seems to be named "Appartamento Anfiteatro Romano".I have no idea why they gave us an apartment in that location.It was maybe a "Bait and switch", or they overbooked Hotel Ideale and this was a backup plan, I don't know. What I know is that we missed on the great views promised by the Hotel Ideale's location, but we did get a nice, large, 1 bedroom apartment with no views. For this reason, I am giving it only 7 stars.

  : Friendly reception. Very clean room.Amazing views of Assisi and the valley below.Superb garden and terrace.Family run hotel with a lot of attention to detail.Refrigerator in room.Beautifully prepared and presented breakfast with a choice of sweet or salty theme.
  : The bathroom is compact, especially the shower access.No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.A small issue that detracts from the vibe at breakfast…...if you would like a second tea or coffee with breakfast there is a charge (but only 2 Euro).

  : Great view overlooking Assisi and the church of Santa Chiara. Easy parking on site. Very clean room, good bathroom and shower. Staff were very lovely, breakfast was very nice out in the garden.

  : Location is perfect - close to everything in the (small) town but just at the edge so you can easily park in their free lot without having to drive in the narrow streets, and also take in the terrific views from the rooms and the beautiful terrace where you can have your very good breakfast or cocktails.
  : Nothing negative to say. This is not a super luxury property but it is charming and very comfortable.

  : It was exceptionally beautiful. The scenery and the views were unique and stunning.
  : The hotel offered to arrange a taxi but did not tell us the price. It was 25 Euros for a short ride from the train station. It was 15 if we had simply got our own taxi from the station. Their taxi driver then upsold us for other trips and rides. The other bad thing was the coffee served at breakfast was terrible.
