  : Location is great. Room was clean and relatively quiet. Stay was pleasant. Staff was friendly.
  : Hotel is no frills. Room was tiny and Spartan, barely fitting a double bed, small bureau and one chair. Window opened to internal air shaft and was nonoperable due to in-room air conditioner installed venting to window. Parking area did not have enough room for all guests. Seriously old school way of staying in Ashland. Felt more like a boarding house.

  : Location was very good. The staff was great. The view was really nice. The bed was very comfortable.
  : You can hear the guest in the next room through the bathroom ceiling vent. He was coughing continuously and sounded very sick. I brought it to Anthony's (front desk clerk) attention. Anthony took my complaint seriously and said he would talk to the guest to make sure he was okay. The coughing was less when I returned to my room a little while later. But then someone in the room started crying hysterically. I shut the bathroom door and that solved the noise from the next room. The chair cushion was flat but the hotel stays consistent with its vintage. The room and bathroom were very clean except for the fingernail clippings on top of the dresser. To be fair, I did not tell the staff about the fingernail clippings as I stayed only one night. If I had said something they most likely would have done something about it.

  : Initial impressions of a quirky, antique -- a period piece hotel. We were checked in by a very pleasant man who curiously had a strong Scots accent but claimed to be Welsh!
  : No heating, no a/c, no extra blankets, no shower in the bath, no coffee. We left at 5am, because we were too cold to stay any longer.

  : Charming historic small hotel right downtown. High ceilings, old fixtures. Some rooms with private bathrooms, others with Gents and Ladies rooms down the hall. Quirky cool old style.
