  : Dinner was weird, Prawns with pasta was like pureed with I guess shrimp in it ? I was expecting a prawn, silly me. Steak in a red wine sauce wasn't steak it was a very overcooked roast beef that was very dry but still somehow better than the shrimp pasta. Breakfast was weird too, salad and cold cuts, baked beans and cooked canned peas. The one thing that semi appealed to my American taste were the scrambled eggs which even though I was quite early to breakfast these were stone cold. I guess they just cater to the British and Germans etc .. but that was everywhere in Sardinia

  : Not a luxury hotel but good value for money.Good location for old town and also has a sea view.Staff helpful, in particular one young lady on reception.
  : No real negatives. Breakfast could be better but again considering the price very acceptable.

  : It was ok, beach front room, comfortable bed and bathroom.
  : Our shower was not working properly, so Id say it needs maintenance. Breakfast not so good, just normal, eggs very dry and no taste.I was expecting more for the price paid.

  : Regrettably we only had a one night stay Hotel El Balear as our flight arrived late close to midnight, and the staff was more than accommodating for our late arrival and upgraded us to a room with a sea for view and terrace, insisted on carrying our luggage up the stairs, as well stored our luggage in the morning as we visited the pretty town of Alghero. I noted the man at the fort desk was able to speak several languages, switching back and forth between them effortlessly. This is a sweet hotel located on a quiet street bordering the sea and is across the street from is a cool bar/cafe and a swimming cove frequented by locals for their morning swim as a well as small beach club with a couple of sun beds and umbrellas almost submersed in the beautiful blue sea. Something about the hotel gives of vibes of Italian cinema of the 1950's/1960s- even though our rooms was obviously tastefully and recently renovated. Breakfast service, (tables with white table cloths), offered a spread of anything you might want with friendly wait staff working the floor (also bordering of formal service ) We liked that the hotel located benefitted from the quieter less touristy area ( situated in a residential area)and was minutes walk from Centro storico which is denser with tourist shops, more restaurants and bars. We recommend a stay here!, and would return.
